Daniel and Bryn Wed in the Beautiful Raleigh Rose Garden!

I married Daniel's sister, Rachel, and her husband, Simon, in 2010. Daniel's mother, Caryn, contacted me to see if I could also officiate Daniel and Bryn's wedding on September 6, 2014 and I am so happy that I was available. She wrote: "I thought of you immediately because you did such a beautiful small ceremony for my daughter back in 2010.  You made everything so personal and really made the ceremony very special.  I am hoping you might be available to do the same thing for my son."
Bryn and Daniel's wedding was at the Raleigh Rose Garden which was in full bloom. When I arrived, there was one of my favorite guitarists to do weddings with. Matt Kanon and I have done so many weddings together we don't even have to go over cues! Rebecca Ferguson was our photographer for the wedding.
Rachel and Simon, it was so good to see you again and you look so happy and contented!
It was time to start and we are all standing as Bryn's parents walk her down the very long "aisle."
It is a good long walk and not easy in high heels and soft ground!
 Here they are!
And so a warm welcome to all, remembering those no longer with us, and a tribute to the couple's parents.
 Exchanging of vows and rings.....
Whoops, it is hot and humid and the perspiration was beaded up on Daniel's forehead and beginning to drip down his nose. It was time for a wipe!
Bryn places the ring on Daniel's finger.
 A closing blessing.
The big moment of the pronouncement of marriage!
 "Look at my new ring!"
Oh happy day! Congratulations, Bryn and Daniel! I know you are so happy and will have a great marriage! I wish you all the best!

Beautiful Raleigh Rose Garden Wedding for Erin and Jeff!

Erin and Jeff are madly in love and it really showed at their wedding! Erin is the founder of Master Dater Speedating and is an expert in helping couples find each other but up until a little more than a year ago, she had not yet found her soulmate. When she and Jeff's paths crossed on September 7, 2012 after a long and complicated journey to find love, they knew they were a perfect match and it did not take them long to decide to marry and set a wedding date. They love the Raleigh Rose Garden and chose the date of October 25, 2013. The celebration included just family and close friends, a gathering of about thirty for the ceremony, followed by a much larger party afterwards at Solas on Glenwood.
So, why the photo of my boot, you may ask? Well, the wedding day dawned on the chilly side and so I donned my favorite pair of boots--old but fairly dressy in black patent. As I was walking across the grassy area of the garden, the sole of my right boot separated from the shoe and I could  not walk without goose-stepping--a little like wearing flippers on dry land. Our honorary wedding director, Tiffany saved the day!! She ran to her car and got two black rubber hair bands and they fit perfectly around my shoe to hold the sole on. A temporary fix but when I went to the shoe repair shop after the wedding to see if they could glue the boot back together, we discovered it really would not be a permanent fix so, I tossed them!
With my shoe held together, Dave and I got my sound system set up and did a sound check. The gardens were beautiful in the crisp fall air and all the guests had arrived.
Meantime, we were all wondering where the bride and limo were! Then we found out they were running late because upon entering the limo, Erin's dress rubbed up against something and she had a black mark on her dress. Not to worry though because Jenny, costume designer with Raleigh Little Theater, was on hand and had just the right tools to rid the dress of that spot. So Erin was whisked inside the lobby where Jenny went to work and the spot was OUT! Ironically, I married Jenny and her husband, Steve, on 10/10/10 at Caffe Luna. Here is the link to their wedding!
Mother of the groom, Christine, Tiffany (wedding director) and I are having fun talking about wedding adventures before we started.
So, once the limo was in place, it was time to get started.
Our bridesmaids in the prettiest shade of red followed by the bride, took their places in the line-up for the processional.
Tiffany got the parents ready to go once I started the music up front.
Erin and her father, Dale, made the long walk down the "aisle" for the ceremony.
This photo courtesy of the couple. I presume that their friend Victoria took it. Thanks!
Erin and Jeff, congratulations on finding each other to share your love and your lives! I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Raleigh Rose Garden Wedding for Andrea and Lazaro!

Andrea and Lazaro met almost 7 years prior to the date of their wedding, June 12, 2013. They were in a crowd of folks watching the Miami Heat Championship and struck up a conversation. Laz was intrigued by Andrea's smile and she noticed what a gentleman he was. After a few exchange of words, they discovered their sense of humor was definitely a match so they decided to see each other again. And, as they say, the rest is history! At some point they decided to marry and began planning their wedding. Andrea and Laz wanted a small family only wedding and they chose the lovely Raleigh Rose Garden at Raleigh Little Theater. They hired Matt Kanon to play guitar and Rick Fisher to take the photos. The English Garden furnished their pretty flowers.
When I arrived, Laz used his best man's (Alex) back to complete the request for certified copies and write the check that I mail in with the license. That saves them the step of requesting them later.
Alex signs the license as a witness. It was then time to begin and after the families took their seats, Laz, Alex and I took our places up in front of the little fountain.
Melissa, the Maid of Honor, made the long walk down the garden aisle.
Andrea and her father, David, entered and he placed Andrea's hand into Laz's. And we began.
There were chairs for everyone but some preferred to stand.
The ceremony was a brief one but filled with sentiment and a bit of good humor as one would undoubtedly expect from Laz and Andrea!
They made their vows and exchanged rings.....
Getting Melissa's signature on the license.....
A group shot before everyone headed over to Second Empire for the reception!
Andrea and Laz, I know you will have a great marriage filled with love and a lot of laughter! Congratulations and best wishes!
