Types of Dressing: Casual and Power

There are two kinds of dressing: casual and power. While the casual represents denims, shorts, chinos, and relaxed t-shirts, power dressing is all about making a powerful declaration. Power dressing includes dressing to make an effect, to leaving your mark behind, to arriving across as qualified and trustworthy and to perhaps even intimidate others. It is apparent to think how outfits can do all of the above. Well, the right outfits can. And we are here to assist you get your power dressing collection to be able.

1. The fit

We cannot say this sufficient number of times. The fit of your outfits is essential. Get the fit right and half your battle is won. 4. Ties and Cufflinks

If you feel no one notices cufflinks and your tie is not of much importance to your entire power look, then you are considering all wrong. A pair of cufflinks, and a well-woven, shiny shaded tie will add a lot to your power look. Your suit without these is like a cake without cherry. And no one requires a cake without cherries acutely.

5. A briefcase

How can your power look be complete without a proper case? Guys bring back packs. Men bring briefcases. Buy one that is intelligent, useful and filled with meaning. One in which you can bring your iPad and essential files/documents with ease, without one battling for space with the other. Put all the above five components together and you have the greatest power look. A man, who would wear these components right, is sure to appeal others with his appeal. Creative Decor for All Saint's Chapel!

I was in All Saint's Chapel for a rehearsal today. Priscilla Erwin with Orangerie Events was there with her staff decorating for the wedding this evening. The mother of the bride had the vision of wrapping the columns in  tulle netting with strings of white lights inside. Priscilla made her vision come to life. I took some photos to show you.

 The tulle really softens the dark wood and sharp angles of the posts.

They also had these cute little birdcages with votive candles in them lining both sides of the aisle. A really smart idea that protects the flames from catching someone's clothing on fire!

Endelig fikk vi postet dette innlegget, som handler om en fantastisk dyktig dansk designer ved navn Jannie Baltzer i Jannie Baltzer Couture Headpieces. Hun designer de vakreste 'hodeplagg', og hårpynt for den moderne, motebevisste & chice bruden. Hennes designs og tilbehør har vært publisert i alle de store internasjonale magasinene, og vist på de største bryllupsbloggene i verden; Style Me Pretty og Green Wedding Shoes. Hun har foreløpig ingen forhandlere i Norge, men shipper 'worldwide', og har mange norske bruder som kunder. For å kunne sørge for at bruden får det akkurat som hun vil, skyper hun med sine klienter, eller kommuniserer via epost, så alle norske bruder som ønsker unik og stylish pynt til håret, gjør dere klar for en aldri så liten forelskelse, når dere får se disse vakre 'smykkene 'til håret.

Selv sier Jannie: Jeg elsker bryllup! Elsker alt med dem, og jeg virkelig liker å bli kjent med alle mine herlige bruder. Det er en fantastisk følelse å møte en ny klient, og få lov til å slippe inn til hennes tanker og drømmer. Min inspirasjon kommer fra detaljene i tidligere epoker; Den franske Bohemianisme fra tidlig 1900-tallet, detaljene i Art Deco-bevegelsen, og 1920 - tallets Hollywood glamour, som er uttrykt i luksuriøse materialer som: franske blonder, 'Edwardian Lace', silke og myk chiffon. Jeg bruker bare håndlagde blomster, og alt perle arbeid er håndlaget med vakre Preciosa krystaller, og perler i mitt studio i København. Jeg elsker å bruke interessante biter av vintage, for å legge til en whimsy og magisk touch, for å skape et unikt 'one of a kind' produkt. Jeg ble uteksaminert fra Scandinavian Academy of International Fashion i København, og fått en ærespris fra Hennes Kongelige Høyhet Prinsesse Benedikte for den mest kreative designkolleksjon.

Påskebryllup fra Ålesund av Fotograf Irene Lovund

PERSONLIG & UNIKT

Et magisk bryllup med masse flotte detaljer har vi fått fra flinke Fotograf Irene Lovund denne gang. Brudeparet heter Gunhild & Anders, og det lyser personlighet og lykke av dette paret. De giftet seg i Ålesund kirke (for en vakker kirke og kirkerom), den 23.03.2013. Bruden har på seg en nydelig vakker Pronovias Alcanar brudekjole, og med selvlaget bukett av brosjer og gamle smykker. Brudgommen i stilig dress, og med superkul hatt. Superstylish & Moderne; just the way we like it. Gunhild hadde også pyntet veldig vakkert med gule påskeliljer i kirken, enkelt, men veldig effektfullt. Hvorfor akkurat påskeliljer, får du svar på fra bruden nederst i bloggposten. Fotograferingen foregikk i de vakre brosteinsgatene i Ålesund, og ved Godøy Fyr, hvor Gunhild er fra. Spektakulære omgivelser som ga en fantastisk bildeserie.

Fotografen skryter masse av paret og sier selv: "Dette paret var helt fantastisk. Jeg ga dem beskjed om at deres jobb på bryllupsdagen sin var kun å være forelska, så skulle jeg ta bilder av det. Og det var de, og helt fantastiske! De var så avslappet og morsomme, og vi lo masse. Men det mest utrolige, og det var flott å se hvor mye kjærlighet de hadde til hverandre - og folk rundt seg. Smittsomt!"

BRUDEN FORTELLER: Vårt beste minne fra dagen er hele dagen, den var fantastisk. Det er mange ting vi kunne ha trukket fram. Men den stunden vi fikk for oss selv i en herlig hvit gammal Volvo Amazon etter vielsen, var helt spesiell. Vårt tips til andre brudepar er å prøve så godt èn kan å planlegge det slik at man har fri, og får slappet av dagen før vielsen. I tillegg så ser vi at det å dra på bryllupsreise rett etter bryllupet var veldig viktig. For da er man gjerne mer sliten enn hva man kanskje tror, også er det viktig for å å finne roen og ta innover seg alle inntrykkene.

Jeg valgte frisørsalongen Nr.12 som ligger i Apotekergata - en av de koseligste gatene i Ålesund. Salongen er liten og kun plass til to kunder av gangen. Med andre ord så fikk jeg og min forlover hele salongen for oss selv. Atmosfæren i salongen er veldig god. Anniken Løviknes er frisøren der, og er en veldig skjønn og behagelig person. Hun er kreativ og kommer med gode råd, men så hører hun også på ens egne ønsker. Buketten har jeg laget selv. Ønsket å ha noe som ingen hadde sett maken til. Fikk litt inspirasjon av noen brosjebuketter jeg hadde sett på nettet. Min er laget av av brosjer, papirblomstrer, ødlagte smykker og øredobber. I kirken brukte jeg Norgesglass som jeg hang opp på annenhver kirkebenk med hver sin lille bukett med påskeliljer. Bestemoren til Anders var så glad i påskeliljer, og haddet elsket å vært der med oss, men dessverre så døde hun i September 2012. Men det var godt å se alle påskeliljene og hedre hennes minne.

Hvorfor valgte dere å feire bryllupet slik - hva var inspirasjonen?

Vi hadde et halvt år på å planlegge bryllup, og vi fikk på den tiden snakket om hva som var viktig for oss begge. Fikk også tips og god hjelp fra familien. Men for ikkje å bli mer stresset enn nødvendig, og for å få det slik som vi ville, så måtte vi faktisk la være å høre på hva venner og familie syntes, og evnt mente var viktig å ha med. Til bordpynt brukte jeg forskjellig ting som jeg hadde kjøpt på bruktbutikk. Gamle småduker, stetteglass, lysestaker, figurer, fat. Alle bordene var ulike. Dette var noe jeg ønsket veldig, men foreldre og venner så det ikke helt for seg. Men det ble kjempe bra! Alt dette var med på å skape en litt løsere stemnig, og folk sa det var veldig godt å komme inn i rommet. Det ble akkurat slik jeg håpet det skulle bli.

Hvorfor Irene Lovund? 

Vi hadde sett på bilder som Irene hadde tatt, og skjønte fort at det var henne vi ville ha. Hun er kreativ, og har en fantastisk evne til å se nye fotoglimt fra et annet perspektiv, enn det andre fotografer ville ha gjort. Hun er også veldig flink til å kommunisere med de hun tar bilde av. I tillegg er hun veldig behagelig å være med. Hun er en nydelig person.
